On April 29, 1986, future HOF Red Sox pitcher Roger Clemens struck out 20 Seattle Mariners, thereby setting the single game strike out record. Since broken, Clemens is the still the only player to accomplish this feat twice (also on September 18, 1996). This OAL Brown baseball was used in the 1986 game. It has been signed in blue ballpoint on the top panel by Clemens, who added "20 Ks 4-29-86." The ball shows good rubbing and wear, the signature and inscription grade a strong 9. Accompanied by a LOA from Jimmy Spence of PSA/DNA and a letter from 32-year Major League Umpire Dave Phillips attesting to the provenance of the ball and signature.
