The 1986 NY Mets brought the World Series trophy back to Shea for the first time since the storied team of 1969. En route to meeting the Red Sox in the World Series, the Mets took the Astros in six games to win the NL pennant. This ONL Feeney baseball was the actual ball thrown by pitcher Jesse Orosco to strike out Kevin Bass for the last out in Game Six to clinch the pennant, Orosco's 3rd win of the Series. Ball shows great use, and Orosco has written on the side panel "10/14/86, Game 6, Playoff Series, Clincher 7-6, 3rd Win, Mets vs Astros." Comes with a letter from Jimmy Spence of PSA/DNA, as well as a letter from our consignor stating how he acquired the ball from Orosco's wife, then took it to Orosco, who verified its authenticity and signed it as well, underneath his original inscription. Impeccable provenance on a piece of baseball history!
