The third World Series to be played, the 1906 fall classic featured two teams from the same city - the Chicago White Sox and Cubs. Despite hitting only .198, the White Sox pulled off a major upset and won the Series in six games. The Cubs, of course, only batted .196. This is a vintage 18" x 18" commemorative mirror display, almost 100 years old, featuring the White Sox 1906 World Series Championship. It is made of three wooden boards attached together, covered with copper plate that wraps around. The copper has been hammered and molded to show a 2" border of baseballs surrounding two White Sox shields, a baseball bat design and a "World Champions 1906" banner. In the center is an 8" x 8" square mirror mounted as a baseball diamond, which appears to be a newer replacement. Three corners have apparent drill holes, ostensibly for mounting. In overall EXMT condition.
