One of the hardest working players inside the paint, Dan Issel earned ABA Co-Rookie of the Year Honors in 1971 with Kentucky. A six-time ABA All-Star, Issel led the Colonels to the ABA title in 1975. In a long career, "The Horse" scored over 27,000 combined ABA/NBA career points. Issel was elected to the Basketball HoF in 1993. On the inside right front of the jacket is the "Rawlings" manufacturers tag with the jersey size "44" on it. On that is the player number "44" in black marker. Adjacent to that is the player number "44" in red (now faded to pink) marker. On the left breast is the official "Kentucky Colonels" embroidered logo patch. Across the back of the jacket is "Kentucky" in blue tackle twill. On the inside back waistband of the pants is the "Rawlings" manufacturers tag with the pants size "38" on it. Adjacent to that is an additional manufacturers tag with "1" on it. Adjacent to that is an additional manufacturers tag with wash instructions on it. On that is the player number "44" in black marker. The jacket and pants show excellent use, with the "Rawlings" tag on the pants being frayed on one edge. The jacket and pants appear to have no alterations of any kind.
