The landmark Philadelphia Convention Hall has a rich athletic history, from the Warriors and 76ers to the WHA Blazers and the La Salle Explorers. Opened in 1931, it has hosted political conventions (FDR was nominated for his second term there), flower shows and the Beatles as well. It was closed in 1985. This pair of original double figural seats from "The Hall" measure approximately 41" from arm rest to arm rest and stand 34" tall. The sculpted iron frame is in the classic style, on the left frame stop is a beautiful raised relief of the City of Philadelphia emblem. Underneath the seats in raised letters it reads "American Seating Co., New York - Chicago." The placards on the arm rests identify these seats as being numbers 10 and 11 in Row J. Wooden backed with orange upholstery, the seats show heavy use, with some bolts missing. There is some rust on the iron frame and some minor chips on the wood accents.
