This superb leather helmet painted silver was used by Vic Schwall, running back from Northwestern, in the 1946 College All Star Game. Picked by the New York Giants in the first round of the 1947 NFL Draft, Schwall played four years in the league. On the front of the helmet is the "Wilson" manufacturers stamp. On the rear of the helmet are additional manufacturers stamps including the model number "D236C" and "Full Fibre Reinforced" and the helmet size "7 1/8." The interior has the original foam padding covered with natural leather and the canvas suspension straps. On the canvas suspension straps is stamped "WIN WITH WILSON" in black ink. On the left rear interior is stamped "AIRLITE CUSHION RUBBER" in black ink. On the left side is "SCHWALL" in black marker. The chinstrap is canvas. The helmet shows excellent game use with scratches and several small nicks.
