The Lions went 4-7-1 in the 1958 season. The tan leather ball has the "Wilson" and "Thorpe Sporting Goods" manufacturers names and "OFFICIAL" and "National Football League Eastern Conference Western Conference" in script and "Bert Bell" in script and "COMMISSIONER" imprinted in black on one panel below the laces. The other panel below the laces and the panel below that has been painted white covering the inflation valve, inflation information, the "MADE IN USA" and the model name "THE DUKE" imprints. On the white paint is "DETROIT 1958 LIONS 26 GIANTS 7 for" and "Gil Marins" in script in black and red paint. The ball is in fair condition with worn ends. The painted surfaces are very cracked and are chipping off in several places.
