One of the greatest players ever to lace on a pair of skates, Bobby Orr revolutionized the game of hockey. He was the first to show a defenseman could be an offensive player. Orr coupled rock-solid defensive skills with quick rushes up-ice. Debuting with the Boston Bruins in 1966, he quickly made his presence felt, winning 1967 NHL Rookie of the Year honors. The following year, Orr became the first defenseman to win the NHL scoring title. He went on to record six consecutive seasons with 100 points or more, and was named the Hart Trophy winner as the NHL MVP three times. Orr was also a fixture on the Bruins' penalty-killing unit, where his superb skating skills showed clearly. Orr was named to the NHL All-Star team and was awarded the Norris Trophy as the league's best Defenseman eight straight years. Orr led the Bruins to their first modern Stanley Cup in 1970 and was named MVP of the playoffs. In 1979, Bobby Orr was elected to the Hockey HoF. On the inside back neck of the jersey is the "Gerry Cosby" manufacturers tag with wash instructions. Adjacent to that is an additional manufacturers tag with the jersey size "48" on it. On the front center of the jersey is the official "NHL" embroidered logo patch. On the left and right breast is the official "NHL" embroidered logo patch on a star done in white on black tackle twill. Along the bottom of the front and the back of the sweater are three stars done in white on black tackle twill. On each shoulder is the official "NHL" logo done in black and orange on white tackle twill. Across the back is "ORR" in black on white tackle twill. Below that and on each sleeve is the player number "4" in black on white tackle twill. Below the number on each sleeve is a star done in white on black tackle twill. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
