In a controversial split decision on December 5, 1947, Joe Louis retained the heavyweight belt by defeating Jersey Joe Walcott at Madison Square Garden. Louis retired soon thereafter, having subsequently knocked out Walcott in a rematch. This full ticket from The Garden is in NRMT condition with minor corner wear and a pencil signature on the back.
