A WWI infantry lieutenant who was wounded three times, Bela Lugosi went on to become one of the most famous actors of his generation, immortalized by his 1931 impression of "Dracula in the film of the same name. A charter member of the Screen Actor's Guild ("SAG," of which he was member #23), by the time of his death in 1956 Lugosi was in such dire straits that Frank Sinatra quietly paid for his funeral - he was buried in his full Dracula costume. This vintage 8" x 10" "Dracula" movie photo still had been vintage signed and inscribed in black fountain by Lugosi. The photo shows heavy wear and creasing around the edges with a 2" tear on the upper left. There is also a 1" tear on the bottom right that goes through the "go" in "Lugosi." Extremely rare on a photo, the signature and inscription show fading and grade a 5. Accompanied by a LOA from Jimmy Spence of PSA/DNA.
