Collection of nine signed documents from the Boss Tweed Tammany Hall era of New York City politics. The key of the lot is a very rare 1870 check signed in fountain pen by three members of the Tweed Ring, A. Oakley Hall (mayor of New York City), Richard B. Connolly (Comptroller) and J.B. Touny (Clerk Board of Supervisors). In overall Fine-VF condition, the other eight documents consist of New York City handwritten documents and receipts with fantastic letterhead. Writing and signatures grade an overall 8-9. Accompanied by a LOA from Jimmy Spence of PSA/DNA.
