Great grouping of six currency notes from the Confederate States of America, in denominations of $1, $5 and $10 (blank backs) and $20, $50 and $100 ("bluebacks"). Confederate money, printed in Columbia, South Carolina (also produced by some states such as Virginia and Georgia), was backed by cotton, as the South was the largest producer in the world at the time. By the end of the war, these notes were practically worthless as the Union blockade had effectively devalued the currency's basis. These notes are all in Uncirculated condition with the exception of the $100 note, which is in Very Fine condition.
