Often referred to as the "Black Eagle," the center face of this (fourth) Series 1899 Speelman-White $1 silver certificate features a flying bald eagle with the flag in its talons, representing the stability of the United States. These bills showcase a complete redesign from the previous three series. Three variations were produced, this one is overprinted with a small blue seal on the lower right lower right, with the series date printed to the right of the seal. Grades Uncirculated.
