This is a 1947 vintage Mills Jewel Bell mechanical slot machine, from their "Hi Top" series. Manufactured by the "Mills Bell-O-Matic Corporation" which was spun off from the parent "Mills Novelty Company" in 1947 to specialize in slot machines. This model accepts quarters, which is the more desirable and rarer configuration, as the older "copper clad" lower-denomination coins had rougher edges and were prone to scratch the internal mechanisms or jam the machine. The interior is all-original and the slot machine works perfectly. The exterior appears to have been beautifully restored and repainted (red, blue and black paint with nickel accents). The machine is extremely heavy and measures over 13" deep x over two feet high x 14" across (not including the arm). It is mounted to a 15" x 16" wood base. Shipping will be expensive for this item.
