When the Mets acquired free agent Pedro Martinez during the offseason between 2004 and 2005 seasons, they knew they were in for something different, but in a good way. Not only has Martinez provided the Mets with the ace pitcher they desperately needed, but his fun-loving personality made him an instant hit with the New York fans. On Opening Day 2005, when Martinez wasn't pitching, a glitch occurred in the Shea Stadium message board, leaving Martinez's mug plastered for the crowd to see for longer than expected. In his usual way, Martinez played to the glitch and connected with the fans. Pedro Martinez has hand signed this road pitching 16x20 photograph.
