Billy Cunningham teamed with fellow Hall of Famers Wilt Chamberlain and Hal Greer to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to the 1967 NBA Championship. Before turning pro in 1965, he had been an All-America at the University of North Carolina. Cunningham played for the Sixers through 1972, when he jumped to join the ABA Carolina Cougars. He returned to the NBA in 1974, however was forced to retire after just 40 games of the 1975-76 season due to injury. In his 11-year pro career, "Billy C" averaged over 20 points and 10 rebounds a game. He was named to four NBA and one ABA All-Star Teams, and was named ABA league MVP in 1973. Cunningham became a great coach, guiding the 76ers to the NBA title in 1983. He was named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history in 1996. Silver Relief medallion. In good condition; scratch on tip of nose and several large scratches on the background.
