Perhaps the greatest offensive player to ever play the game, Wilt Chamberlain was the first player in NBA history to be named league MVP and Rookie of the Year in the same season (1960 with the Philadelphia Warriors). He also set eight NBA season records and was named to the NBA All-Star Game in that year. Before turning pro, Wilt was a star at Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, at Kansas, and with the Harlem Globetrotters. Wilt set two NBA game records that will likely stand forever: 100 points (1962) and 55 rebounds (1960). In his 14-year NBA career with the Philadelphia and San Francisco Warriors, the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers, Chamberlain averaged 30.1 points and 22.9 rebounds. He was named league MVP four times, All-NBA First Team seven times, and was a 13-time All-Star. "The Big Dipper" led his teams to the 1967 and 1972 NBA Championships, and retired with 31,419 career points and an NBA record 23,924 career rebounds. Elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1979, he was named as one of the NBA's 50 greatest players in 1996. Purple dureen jersey with white, yellow and purple stripe trim around neck and arm openings. On the center front tail of the jersey is the "Tiernan" distributor's tag. Across the front of the jersey is "LAKERS." Below that and on the back of the jersey is the player number "13." Across the back of the jersey is "CHAMBERLAIN." The lettering is done in yellow on white tackle twill. The numbering is done in white shadow-edged yellow tackle twill. The jersey shows good game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
