The Buffalo Bills selected quarterback Jim Kelly in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft. However, the Miami Hurricane star opted to sign with the Houston Gamblers of the United States Football League. In two seasons with the Gamblers Kelly threw for 9,842 yards and 83 touchdowns. On the front left tail of this jersey is the "RUSSELL" manufacturer's wash size "44" tag. On the front, back, and on each shoulder is the player number "12" screened on in white on red. Across the back is "KELLY" screened on in white on a black name plate. The jersey shows light use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
