Baseball's first great slugger, Babe Ruth was a member of Cooperstown's very first class. A national icon, his autograph is among the most sought after in the world today. The first component of this alluring 17" x 24" framed display is an 11" x 14" black and white reproduction of Nat Fein's Pulitzer Prize winning photograph "The Babe Bows Out," picturing Ruth from behind on "Babe Ruth Day" at Yankee Stadium in 1948. Beneath this is matted a Babe Ruth Perez-Steele postcard. On the lower portion is a 2" x 3 1/4" cut which is signed in black fountain pen by Babe Ruth. The quotes around "Babe" are indicative of his signature, especially in his early Yankee years. The clear signature grades an overall 8-9. The display is in overall NRMT condition, with the glossy photo and postcard being MINT. There is some minor separation on the lower right of the frame. Accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication.
