MEL STOTTLEMYRE, New York pitching coach for the past 10 seasons, has helped the Yankees pitching staff dominate the post-season, winning four World Series in five years. On the left front tail is the "Russell" manufacturer's label with the jersey size "46" on it. Attached to that is a flag tag with "100% POLYESTER" on it. Adjacent to that is an additional manufacturers tag with "STOTLEMYRE 99" on it. Across the front of the jersey is "NEW YORK." On the back is the coach's number "34." All lettering and numbering is done in blue on white tackle twill. On the right sleeve is the embroidered official "1999 World Series" logo patch. On the left sleeve is a black armband a number "5" in black tackle twill worn in memory of Yankee greats Catfish Hunter and Joe DiMaggio. The "5" has been moved higher when the other armband was added later in the season. The jersey shows wear and appears to have no other alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a Yankees-Steiner Collectibles COA.
