The "set-up" man for closer Mariano Rivera, JEFF NELSON held righties to a .118 batting average during the Yankees run of four championships through 2000. This is Jeff Nelson's 1999 NY Yankees game-issued World Series road knit jersey. On the left front tail is the "Russell Athletic Diamond Collection" manufacturer's label with size "50." Attached is a white flag tag with material "100% Polyester," beneath which is a white flag tag with "4" extra length." Adjacent is a white patch with "Nelson-99." Across the front of the jersey is "New York" done in blue on white tackle twill. On the back is the player's number "43" done in blue on white tackle twill. On the right sleeve is the official "1999 World Series" patch. On the left sleeve is a black armband done in elastic felt and a number "5" done in black tackle twill in memory of Yankees greats Catfish Hunter and Joe DiMaggio, who both died in 1999.
