While not an everyday player, CHAD CURTIS was nevertheless a valuable part of the Yankee successes of the late 90s. He started Game 3 of the 1999 World Series and went on to hit two home runs, including the game-winning home run in the tenth inning off Mike Remlinger of the Atlanta Braves at Yankee Stadium, which all but clinched their third World Series championship in four years. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Russell" manufacturer's size 44 tag with wash instructions on it. Below that tag is the "CURTIS-99" year tag. Attached to the "Russell" tag is an additional manufacturer's flag tag with "100% POLYESTER" on it. Across the front of the jersey "NEW YORK" in navy blue on white tackle twill. On the back of the jersey is the number "28" in navy blue on white tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the black "5" to honor the death of Joe DiMaggio and below that is the black armband to honor the death of Jim " Catfish" Hunter. On the right sleeve is the 1999 World Series patch. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a Yankees-Steiner Collectibles Certificate.
