ORLANDO "El Duque" HERNANDEZ won his only start in the 1999 World Series, pitching seven innings and giving up only one earned run. His win helped the Yankees to a four-game series sweep of the Atlanta Braves in the 1999 World Series. On the left front tail is the "Russell" manufacturers label with the jersey size "48" on it. Attached to that is a flag tag with "100% POLYESTER" on it. Adjacent to that is an additional manufacturers tag with "HERNANDEZ 99" on it. Across the front of the jersey is "NEW YORK." On the back is the player number "26." All lettering and numbering is done in blue on white tackle twill. On the right sleeve is the embroidered official "1999 World Series" logo patch. On the left sleeve is a black armband and a number "5" in black tackle twill worn in memory of Yankee greats Catfish Hunter and Joe DiMaggio. The "5" has been moved higher when the other armband was added later in the season. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no other alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a Yankees-Steiner Collectibles COA.
