Wade Boggs was a base-hit machine, racking up 200 hits in seven consecutive seasons with his jedi-like approach to his craft. He won five batting titles and consistently hit 40 doubles a year. Unable to win a World Series in Boston, Boggs signed as a free agent with the New York Yankees mid-career, and sipped champagne in 1996. A beautiful grey road knit jersey of this Hall of Fame player. On the bottom left front tail is the WILSON manufacturer's tag with a size 42 flag tag. Sewn below that tag is the "86" year tag. "BOSTON" is sewn across the front of the jersey in solid navy tackle twill. "26" is sewn on back in the same color tackle twill. It appears that the "2" on back is original and the "6" on back has replaced another number. Stitching looks consistent with a team number change. Besides the number change, it appears to have no other alterations of any kind and shows good game-use.
