Wood was the mainstay of the ChiSox bullpen from 1967 to 1970. He set a then-major-league record by appearing in 88 games in 1968, winning The Sporting News American League Fireman of the Year Award. The resilient lefty would go on to lead AL relievers in games appeared in each of the next two campaigns. During his four-year stint in the Chicago bullpen, the knuckleball expert accumulated 56 saves with a 2.49 ERA. On the inside front tail of the blue flannel jersey is the "MacGregor" "SET 2 1967" manufacturer's tag. Below this tag is a wash instructions tag. Across the front of the jersey "CHICAGO" in navy blue tackle twill. Below that "WHITE SOX" is embroidered in white. On the front left and on the back is the player number "28" in navy blue on white tackle twill. Across the back is "WOOD" in navy blue tackle twill. The name "WOOD" on this jersey has been restored. There is an autograph in black marker rating an 8 below the player number on the front of the jersey. The jersey shows good game use and besides the name being restored appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication.
