The "Iron Man" of the modern baseball era, Cal Ripken, Jr. set the MLB record playing in 2,623 consecutive games. The 1982 AL Rookie of the Year with the Baltimore Orioles, Ripken spent his entire career with the "Birds." Grey jersey with black and orange stripe trim on sleeves. On the inside left front tail of the jersey is the "Rawlings" manufacturers tag with the jersey size "48" and wash instructions on it. Adjacent to that is an additional manufacturers tag with "T" on it. Attached to that is an additional manufacturers tag with "SET 1 1989" on it. Below the "Rawlings" tag is an additional manufacturers tag with "2 INCH EXTRA LENGTH" on it. Across the front of the jersey is "Orioles" in script. Below that on the left and on the back of the jersey is the player number "8." Across the back of the jersey is "RIPKEN" on a grey name plate. All lettering and numbering is done in black on orange tackle twill. The jersey shows good game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
