Right Handed Pitcher Don McMahon joined the Giants in August of the 1969 season, and ended up wearing this jersey originally made for a player cut in Spring Training. McMahon made his MLB debut in 1957, and led the NL in saves and the Braves to the World Series in 1959. Grey flannel jersey with black and red stripe trim around neck and cuffs. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Rawlings" manufacturers tag with the jersey size "44" on it. Below that is an additional manufacturers tag with wash instructions on it. Below that is "69 44" embroidered in black. On the inside back collar is an additional manufacturers tag with "Jeffcoat" in script embroidered in black. Across the front of the jersey is "SAN FRANCISCO." On the back of the jersey is the player number "47." All lettering and numbering is done in black on orange tackle twill. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a newspaper clipping referencing McMahon.
