Fitzsimmons pitched for 19 seasons, seven of which were with the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1939 he went 7-9 with a 3.87 ERA and three saves. The 1939 Dodgers, managed by Leo Derocher (who also started at shortstop), had a record of 84-69 and finished third in the National League. The blue wool cap has a white top button, green bill bottom, and brown leather headband. On the inside back of the headband is the "Spalding" manufacturers tag. To the right of that is the cap size "7 3/8" and "F. Fitzsimmons" in script in blue ink. On the front of the cap is the official Brooklyn "B" embroidered in white. The cap shows excellent game use with a small chip out of the tip of the bill.
