Steve Garvey was the 1978 NLCS MVP. He collected 200 hits six times and drove in 100 runs five times while solidifying the middle of the Dodgers lineup. On the inside back collar of the jersey is the "Goodman & Sons" manufacturer's size tag "44" with wash instructions. Across the front of the jersey is "Dodgers" in blue tackle twill. Below that on the left is the player number "6" in red tackle twill. On the back of the jersey is the player number "6" in blue on white tackle twill. Across the back is "GARVEY" in blue on white tackle twill sewn directly on the jersey. On the left sleeve is a black and white "19" death patch in memory of former player and coach Jim Gilliam. According to the Baseball Hall of Fame this patch was worn only in the World Series that season. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
