The recent passing by Mike Piazza of Johnny Bench on the all-time list for home runs as a catcher on reminds us how great Bench truly was at the plate. He signed this 1970s era bat in black marker with "HOF 89" inscription which rates a 6. Red rack marks from the Cincinnati dugout can be found on the handle. Light pine tar remains on the handle. His jersey number "5" is written on both ends of the back in black marker. Man: H&B, Model: B278, Order Period: 1973-75, L: 35.5 in, W: 32.4 oz, Wood: Ash, Finish: Flame Burned. The bat is accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA and the signature with a LOA by James Spence Authentication.
