Original personal letter from longtime Jewish Pittsburgh Pirates owner Barney Dreyfuss to Hall of Famer Max Carey on March 5, 1930. The letter is asking for Carey to return to the Pirates as a coach for the 1930 season. Carey was suspended and sold to the Dodgers in 1926 as a result of internal differences in the Pirates clubhouse. The letter is written on 5" x 6-1/4" "Hollywood Beach Hotel & Country Club" letterhead in black fountain pen and is signed by Mr. Dreyfuss rating a solid 9. Also included are multiple research papers. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope and a LOA from James Spence Authentication. Great autograph for the Jewish baseball collector.
