Even after giving up several of his best years to military service, HOFer Ted Williams still managed to belt 521 home runs and maintain a career .344 batting average. Widely considered the greatest pure hitter of all time, Williams won the Triple Crown twice, in 1942 and 1947, leading the league in batting average, home runs and RBIs. He later went on to manage the Senators and the Rangers. These three lineup cards date to the end of Williams' stint in baseball, as manager of the Texas Rangers. The last Rangers series of 1972 was played at home against the Royals on 10/3/1972 and 10/4/1972. One lineup card is dated "10/3/72," with players names written in and signed "Williams" in pencil on the bottom. The other lineup card is dated "10/4/72," with players names written in and signed "Williams" in pencil on the bottom. Also included is the Royals lineup card from this last game, filled in and signed by manager Bob Lemon in pencil on the bottom. All the lineup cards have been laminated. They are in EX condition with some staining and creasing. The Williams signatures grade a 7 (10/4) and 8-9 (10/3) respectively. Accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication and an additional LOA.
