1993 was the year that the expansion Toronto Blue Jays won their second consecutive World Series Championship. The second Canadian franchise after the Montreal Expos, the Jays struggled through the late 1970s as they laid the foundation of a contending team in the 1980s. Melding home-grown talent with such stars as Paul Molitor, Roberto Alomar and John Olerud, they defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in six games to win the 1993 World Series. Cast in 14K yellow gold, on the top perimeter of this size 10 1/2 ring is "World Champions 1993" in relief on a gold background. Centered on the top of the ring is an enameled Blue Jays logo in relief, into which is set a round stone. The logo rests atop a bed of several smaller round stones. On the right shank is the name "Torres" (team executive) in relief on a gold background. Beneath this is the American League logo in relief. On the left shank is "Toronto Blue Jays" in relief on a gold background. Beneath this a rendition of the 1993 World Series logo, beneath which is an engraved banner that reads "Back To Back." Beneath this is "92 93" in relief. Inside the ring is stamped "Tiffany & Co., 14K 585." Included is the original 3 3/4" x 2 3/4" x 2" wood presentation box. Ring shows light wear and is in overall EXMT-NRMT condition.
