This size 13 1/2 ring cast in 14K yellow gold was presented to Reds scout Bob Thurman when the Cincinnati Reds won the 1970 National League pennant by sweeping the Pirates. Thurman was a great slugger in the Negro Leagues and the Reds of the 1950s, and later returned as a scout. On the top perimeter is "Cincinnati Reds NL Champions 1970" in relief on a gold background. In the center is a large red custom cut stone. On the right shank is a banner engraved with the recipient's name "Thurman." Beneath this is a rendition of the Reds logo and "The Big Red Machine" in relief with two crossed bats and a baseball. On the left shank is a rendition of Riverfront Stadium, beneath which is an engraved banner which reads "Championship Series." Beneath this are the games and scores of the NLCS in relief. On the inside of the ring is engraved "Balfour 14K." Ring shows light wear and is in overall EXMT condition. Accompanied by a letter from Bob Thurman.
