The Flushing Meadows Park complex in Queens, New York is home both to Shea Stadium and the 1964 World's Fair. As parking is limited, both then and now, the use of New York's famous public transportation system was encouraged for all wishing to attend. Those who made the last leg of their journey by subway were greeted by this sign as they exited. Measuring an eye catching 6 feet by 1 foot, the sign reads, "To World's Fair & Shea Stadium" with arrows above to direct visitors to their final destination. It is comprised of sheet metal that has been tacked to a stronger wooden backing, with two wire hoops used for hanging. The black lettering is 95% intact with only a few small chips missing from several letters. In overall EX-EXMT condition.
