This large circa 1980 metal travel case was used by the Cincinnati Reds for the transport of batting helmets when the team was on the road. It measures 38" wide x 15 ½" tall x 39" deep, colored red with metal trim and protective corner pieces. Stenciled white on all sides is ":Cincinnati Reds, Handle With Care, E-L4." On the upper top is a stamped plaque which reads "3264, Cincinnati Reds Inc." There are four wheels on the bottom, four handles in total, and 3 clasps on each side (12 in all) which, when opened, allow the padded lid to be removed. There are locks on two sides, keys are not included. The inside consists of four rows of four equally sized compartments, 16 in all, into which are placed batting helmets for transport. In overall EXMT condition, some of the inner padding has come loose, one of the outer clasps is broken, some of the outer panels are heavily scratched from years of use. This case was sold directly by the Cincinnati Reds. This item will be expensive to ship.
