Sam Snead was one of the top professional golfers in the world for four decades. He won a record 82 PGA Tour events and about 70 tournaments worldwide. He won seven majors including three Masters, three PGA Championships and one British Open. Snead was notorious for wearing a straw hat and playing in some of his tournaments barefooted. This lot is a beautiful 42" x 13" Sam Snead shadowbox. The shadowbox contains a 34 inch putter from Snead's personal putter collection, signed by Snead in black marker rating an 8. Also in the display is an 11" x 8-1/2" Sam Snead straw hat advertisement, signed by Sam in black marker, rating a 7 and an 11" x 8-1/2" Sam Snead official letterhead dated April 1, 1998 detailing the enclosed putter, signed by Snead in black pen rating a near perfect 10. Accompanied by a LOA from Snead and an additional LOA from James Spence Authentication.
