This vintage "Skull Island" native drum was issued to the set of the famous 1933 film production "King Kong" for use in background scenes. It measures 18" tall and 18" wide at its narrowest. The wooden barrel-shaped body supports two drum skins on either side, which are riveted in. There are four iron rings attached to the equator, ostensibly for transport. There is a tiny hole on the bottom head and a small tear on the top head. Drum shows wear, it is not known if this is due to usage or age. Comes with a certificate from the Ellis Prop Company.
