Among the first issues of paper currency ("bill of credit") issued by the fledgling U.S. Government in 1776 was the $2 bill. Silver certificates were created in five different Series', with only the second, third and fourth containing the $2 denomination. This scarce Fourth Series (1899) Teehee-Burke $2 silver certificate features a centered portrait of George Washington, flanked by Agriculture and Mechanics. This popular bill shows some creasing and signs of use and circulation, grades a Very Fine.
