Collection of five scarce hood ornaments including a 1951 Chrysler, early 1930s Lincoln or Ford "Greyhound," possibly 1940s Packard "Swan," possibly 1930s Cadillac "Goddess" and unknown "Eagle" mascot. They have all been mounted to wood bases. They show varying degrees of pitting, which is the main aging condition of hard chrome. Chrome is generally plated over steel, but needs oxygen to retain its brightness; when it "pits" it is actually pulling away from its substrate, but can easily be re-plated.
