Very scarce program from April 18, 1923, the historic opening day of Yankee Stadium. An unprecedented 74,000 fans were in attendance, with nearly 25,000 more being turned away at the gate. They came to see Babe Ruth belt a spectacular home run against his old team the Red Sox, the first ever in Yankee Stadium. The unscored program is in VG condition. The cover is loose and exhibits paper loss and cracking on the edges. The book itself shows a heavy vertical center fold with most pages being loose, as well as some creasing on the pages. One of the rarest and most desirable programs around.
