The "Iron Horse" is remembered both for his great feats on baseball diamond and the sad story of his tragic physical downfall. The amount of affection when Lou's illness was announced in 1939, and the grief and sorrow at his death in June of 1941 were an example of the connection between this great ballplayer and his dedicated fans. There is an original full ticket from the "Lou Gehrig Memorial" on July 4th, 1941 at Yankee Stadium. This bleacher ticket has a face value of fifty five cents and is in overall EXNRMT condition. Also included in this lot is a torn grandstand ticket stub from the same game on July 4th, 1941. This stub has a face value of one dollar and ten cents and is in overall EX condition.
