Whitey Ford once said of his nemesis Sandy Koufax, "I know Koufax' weakness. He can't hit". Sandy could not say the same for Ford. In his first eight seasons with the Yankees, the "Chairman of the Board" went to six World Series and won four. In four out of his first ten seasons, Whitey hit well over .200 for the season, a phenominal feat for a Hall of Fame pitcher of his calliber. Excellent overall use with ball marks on nearly all sides of the hitting surface. Transfer marks are evident in blue, white and red. Blue and black rack streaks run down the barrel and handle. A light coat of pine tar still remains on the lower handle. The bat model number is stamped into the knob end. Ford autographed the bat with inscription "This is my game used bat!" in blue marker that rates a strong 9. Man: Adirondack, Model: 24C, Order Period: 1961-67, L: 35 in, W: 33.6 oz, Wood: Ash, Finish: Standard. The bat is accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA and the signature by a LOA from James Spence Authentication.
