Beautiful 10" x 14" silver tray with Mantle likeness affixed to top, presented to Mickey Mantle by the Baseball Writers' Association of America in 1969. The tray is engraved with Mantle's Yankee stats and reads, "A Special Award to a Special Guy, Mickey Mantle, For your spectacular selfless contributions to people and to your profession...Keep swinging always." The tray has been mounted to a 13' x 20" wooden plaque with a silver plaque that reads, "Awarded by Washington D.C. Chapter, Baseball Writers' Association Of America, January 21, 1969, Shoreham Hotel. In overall EXMT-NRMT condition with slight tarnishing. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Mantle family.
