Returning to the Yankees as a coach from 1976 to 1983, Berra watched as owner George Steinbrenner changed managers eight times in those eight seasons. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Wilson" manufacturers tag with the jersey size "44" and wash instructions on it. On the inside back collar is a strip tag with "Berra 76 2" embroidered on it. Across the front of the jersey is "NEW YORK." On the back is the coach's number "8." All lettering and numbering is done in navy blue on white tackle twill. There was a number change and the jersey has been restored. There is an autograph in black marker rating a 9 on the left breast. The jersey shows game use and outside of the number change and restoration appears to have no alterations of any kind.
