Billy Martin's Yankee playing career began in 1950 and ended on June 15, 1957. The trading of Martin and several other Yankees to Kansas City followed a highly publicized nightclub brawl involving several Yankee players, including Mickey Mantle and Hank Bauer. Martin was blamed for the mess and subsequently traded. This Louisville Slugger (Model M110) 33.5" Billy Martin signature model bat is signed on the front barrel in blue marker by Billy, rating a solid 8. The bat has a few minor scrapes and nicks giving it an overall condition of EX. The knob has been stamped with the model number "M110". This bat was consigned directly by the chairman of the "New York Yankees 65 Roses Sports Club" and comes with a copy of his letter stating how Billy Martin used this bat during practice, in his tenure as Yankees manager, and that Martin later signed the bat for him. Accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication.
