DON MATTINGLY became a regular in 1984 and established himself as one of the preeminent stars of the 1980s. He hit for average and power, fielded his position at first base with brilliance, and displayed a work ethic and charisma reminiscent of the Yankee greats of the past. On the left tail of the jersey is the "Wilson" manufacturers tag with wash instructions on it. Attached to that is a size "42" flag tag. On the inside back collar is a "89 1" embroidered strip tag. Across the front of the jersey is "NEW YORK." On the back is the player number "23." All lettering and numbering is done in navy on white tackle twill. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a Yankees-Steiner Collectibles COA.
