Known as the greatest franchise in the history of sports, the NY Yankees have fielded immortal teams in every era. In 1996 the Yankees once again made New York City a magic place in the month of October by defeating the Atlanta Braves in the World Series to bring home the first Championship since 1978 and the first of four over the next five years. This 1996 NY Yankees World Championship commemorative black bat measures approximately 35" in length. The barrel has been engraved with 24 Yankee names in gold lettering, as well as 16 Yankee signatures engraved in gold lettering. The middle of the bat has the "Louisville Slugger" trademark engraved in gold lettering. The top of the barrel has "New York Yankees World Champions 1996" and "Joe Torre" in script, both engraved in green lettering. The bat is in overall NR-MT condition with very minor scuffing. This bat belonged to Jim Leyritz, a member of the 1996 Yankees, and comes with a Leyritz family letter.
