A powerful hitter and good fielder, SHANE SPENCER was the Yankees' "platoon" man along with Ricky Ledee in the late 1990s. He was a part of the Yankee team that swept the Braves in the 1999 Series to win their third Championship in four years. This is Shane Spencer's 1999 NY Yankees game-used World Series home knit pinstripe jersey. On the left front tail is the "Russell Athletic Diamond Collection" manufacturer's label with size "46." Attached is a white flag tag with material "100% Polyester." Adjacent is a white faded patch with "Spencer 99." On the left breast is the "NY" interlocking logo done in blue tackle twill. On the back is the player number "47" done in blue tackle twill. On the right sleeve is the official "1999 World Series" patch. On the left sleeve is a black armband done in elastic felt with the number "5" done in black tackle twill in memory of Yankees greats Catfish Hunter and Joe DiMaggio, both of whom died in 1999. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a letter from Yankees-Steiner Collectibles.
