JOE TORRE has become one of the all-time great managers with the Yankees. He has been the "skipper" of the Yankees since 1996, directing the team to six World Series appearances and four World Championships since then. In 1999, he guided the Yankees to a four-game sweep of the Atlanta Braves in the fall classic. On the left front tail is the "Russell" manufacturers tag with the jersey size "48" on it. Attached to that are flag tags with "100% POLYESTER" and "2" EXTRA LENGTH" on them. Adjacent to that is an additional manufacturers tag with "TORRE 99" on it. Across the front of the jersey is "NEW YORK." On the back is the number "6." All lettering and numbering is done in blue on white tackle twill. On the right sleeve is the embroidered official "1999 World Series" logo patch. On the left sleeve is a black armband and a number "5" in black tackle twill worn in memory of Yankee greats Catfish Hunter and Joe DiMaggio. The "5" has been moved higher when the other armband was added later in the season. The jersey shows wear and appears to have no other alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a Yankees-Steiner Collectibles COA.
